IT guy has hijacked San Francisco network

Terry Childs (an appropriate last name) had a tantrum because he was disciplined for performance issues. So, in retaliation, he made sure he was the only one in the city of San Francisco  who has the administrative password to access the system.

Childs sent out passwords to admins, but they did not work…funny guy. Childs is in the ‘lock-up’ until he fesses up. For my money they should get one of those Russian hackers on the case. Until it is fixed it is affecting; city payroll, official email, jail bookings and other legal documents for the City of San Francisco.

Nobody saw this coming? How would you like to be the guy who hired this ‘fruitcake’? IT departments require level-headed workers since they are privy to sensitive data and as in this case can easily take control of the servers at least for a little while. No, it is not worth the destruction of a career and possible jail time. And nobody saw this coming?

  1. Come on, it’s San Francisco. I would like to hear his side of the story. Meanwhile, GOOD FOR HIM.
